How to be a socialist at work

March 16 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Working class anger at 40 years of ruling class austerity is more visible and powerful than it’s been since the revolts of the 1960’s as evidenced by the wave of teachers’ strikes in the past year. Socialism is consistently rated preferable to capitalism by young workers in polls while a self proclaimed democratic socialist is the most popular politician in the country.

It’s clear that there is fertile ground for socialism to grow in the US, but how do turn popular sentiment into organization and real working class power? We think reconnecting today’s revived socialist movement with the rich history of labor struggle in the U.S. is the key tipping point to winning real and lasting change.

Only in the U.S. is socialism seen as foreign to unions and shop-floor struggles. It’s time that changed.
